Senior year is a big deal for your students - and for you! Important decisions are being made that impact your student's future. Remember: GEAR UP Kentucky is here to help you and your student navigate a successful transition to college!
GEAR UP Kentucky 12th graders receive services throughout their senior year to help
them choose a future path. When they choose to attend postsecondary education - whether
that be a short-term certificate program or a 2- or 4-year degree program - they become
a GEAR UP Scholar. If they choose to attend one of GEAR UP Kentucky's nine partner institutions,* they
will receive GEAR UP Kentucky services throughout their first year of college from
their designated Postsecondary Transition Coordinator.
Transition to College Guide for GEAR UP Scholar Families
GEAR UP Kentucky has created a Transition to College Guide for GEAR UP Scholar Families
that provides month-by-month plans of what to do - and when - for crucial tasks on
the path to postsecondary. You will also find contact information for GEAR UP Kentucky
Postsecondary Transition Coordinators, who are happy to answer questions and provide
support related to their designated colleges.
