GEAR UP Kentucky – NEW GRANT INFO
Regrettably, the GEAR UP Kentucky grant was not funded in the 2017 competition.
While we won’t know the details of the score or the specifics of the readers’ feedback for a while, we are confident that Kentucky submitted a strong, comprehensive, partnership-driven proposal and that is thanks in large part to the amazing, dedicated professionals, partners and friends like you – Thank you.
We are certainly surprised and disappointed, but there is no time to grieve. Ranjit Sidhu, President and CEO of The National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) recently called the thousands of GEAR UP professionals and partners across the nation – UNAPOLOGETIC SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS, and as such we will model the same resilience and focus that the system demands of our students and their families, because the battle for equity, opportunity and accountability across the Commonwealth and the nation goes on.
As one of my personal heroes recently wrote: “… it’s our responsibility to keep doing our part to build a better, stronger, and fairer future for our country and the world.”
Thanks to all our partners, schools, students and families for your friendship, partnership and support for the last 17 years!
